India, May 27 -- C hef George Calombaris, former judge on cooking show MasterChef Australia, has found himself at the centre of an online food fight after sharing his version of 'dal makhani' on Instagram. While the chef clarified that it was his own version of the dish, many online called it far from authentic, particularly over his use of chicken stock in the recipe. Within hours, the Reel clocked 205K views and nearly 4,300 comments, turning it into a virtual kitchen war. In a Reel posted on Sunday, George shared a simplified version of dal makhani using ingredients that significantly deviated from the centuries-old Punjabi classic. George used chicken stock cubes and different lentils in his quick 20-minute method for the dish.
