Chandigarh, Oct. 10 -- The municipal corporation (MC) suspended sanitary inspector Shakti Sharma following his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an alleged bribery case. According to an official order, Shakti Sharma, who was posted as a sanitary inspector in the medical officer of health (MOH) office, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect on grounds of alleged moral turpitude. The suspension order was issued by municipal commissioner Amit Kumar, under Rule 10(2) of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965. Sharma was arrested by the CBI in Sector 11, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.5 lakh.
