Panchkula, Oct. 6 -- Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula hosted a CBSE Capacity Building Programme (CBP) workshop on environmental studies on October 3 under the guidance of the principal Gulshan Kaur. The workshop aimed to strengthen teachers' understanding of environmental studies and promote engaging, experiential and child-centred learning practices. The workshop was conducted by Bharti Aggarwal and Seema Kumari, educators and CBSE resource persons, who brought rich expertise in competency-based, experiential and innovative pedagogy. The sessions focused on connecting classroom learning with children's everyday experiences and their surroundings. Emphasis was placed on activity-based learning, observation, exploration, questioning and discussion to develop curiosity and environmental awareness among students. The participants also explored innovative classroom activities, age-appropriate teaching methodologies and ways of integrating environmental concepts with different areas of learning. The workshop highlighted the importance of nurturing sensitivity towards nature and developing responsible environmental habits among children from an early age.
