India, April 16 -- Bel fruit is a traditional summer superfood. Bel sharbat is made from the pulp of the bel fruit and is a natural summer cooler with Ayurvedic benefits. "It helps prevent heatstroke, supports digestion and gut health (especially useful in acidity, IBS, or constipation), and has fibre and antioxidants," says Executive Chef Siddharth from The Tivoli. He adds, "We have incorporated this in our summer menu, served as a welcome and detox drink."
When paired with Gond Katira, it creates a hydration effect that keeps you energised under the harshest sun. "We take the naturally gut-friendly Bel fruit pulp and cold water, enhance its density with soaked Gond Katira, and introduce a subtle floral heat using powdered peppercorn, roasted cumin, and black salt," says Chef Ishijyot, Mulk & SJI Gourmet....
