Taking to Instagram, he appeared to take the memes and criticism in his stride, saying he was "low-key loving the edits" and calling the phrase in the song a "silly little slang". "Calm down, calm down, calm down, fam," he added. The track has been roasted online for its repetitive hook and choreography, with users comparing it to singer Tony Kakkar's music. The music video has also drawn criticism for its workplace setting, where Randhawa plays a senior professional as several women, portrayed as colleagues, dance around him.
