Cadre-leadership unity a must to strengthen party, says Nabin
Jammu, July 8 -- The BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday asked sitting MLAs, former legislators, former DDC chairmen and ex-BDC members to stay connected with the people at grass root level and implement party programmes and ideology in Jammu and Kashmir.
Nabin, while addressing a meeting, reviewed the prevailing socio-political situation in J&K and the organisational roadmap for the coming months.
He said that BJP's greatest strength lies in its disciplined organisation and dedicated cadre, asserting that elected representatives and organisational workers must function as one cohesive team to further strengthen the party at the grassroots.
He said that every MP, MLA and senior leader should maintain constant coordination party cadre, ensuring their active participation in all organisational programmes. He said that such synergy between the organisation and public representatives is indispensable for strengthening the BJP's presence across every village, ward and booth. He called upon all leaders to intensify public contact, remain accessible to the people, and effectively communicate thepolicies and achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government.
Laying special emphasis on "Mann Ki Baat" programme, Nabin directed that it must be organised at every single booth across J&K with maximum public participation. He also appreciated the efforts of MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia in Udhampur district for successfully organising Mann Ki Baat programmes on maximum booths.
J&K unit president and MP Sat Sharma said that the guidance provided by the national president would further energise the party cadre across the Union territory.
"It was an organisational meeting wherein the national president told us to implement party programmes and ideology on the ground and be an inter-face between them and the party high command," MLA Mankotia told HT.
Nabin, however, had to cut short his two-day visit and had to skip his scheduled pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi shrine due to official commitments, a party leader said,
Earlier during the day, Nabin visited the RSS headquarters, Keshav Bhawan, at Ambphalla, where he met senior Sangh functionaries. He later paid tributes to Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader Prem Nath Dogra at Dogra Chowk before proceeding to the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar to chair the joint meeting....
