BSF nabs 3 with 7-kg heroin near Indo-Pak border in Gurdaspur
GURDASPUR, March 21 -- The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday apprehended three smugglers in the Gurdaspur sector attempting to retrieve a 7-kg consignment of heroin that had been delivered via a drone from across the border.
The arrested accused were identified as Sukhdev Singh (22), a resident of Ghumrai village, Jodha Singh (26), a resident of Panjgrane village, and Manpreet Singh (23), a resident of Panjgrane village.
According to official information, alert personnel of the BSF's 113 Battalion deployed at the Basantar Border Out Post (BOP) under the Gurdaspur sector maintained strict surveillance following drone activity in the area.
Acting swiftly, the troops intercepted three smugglers who had arrived to retrieve a heroin consignment weighing approximately 7 kg that had been dropped inside Indian territory.
The arrested smugglers and the seized heroin have been handed over to the NCP Police for further investigation. BSF sources stated that the success came as part of a targeted intelligence-based operation conducted by the force....
