NEW DELHI, June 1 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national chief Nitin Nabin is set to chair a meeting of the party's office bearers, state unit presidents and general secretaries in New Delhi on Monday to discuss organisational issues and preparation for the upcoming assembly elections in seven states in 2027, people aware of the details said on Sunday. The meeting comes ahead of the 12th anniversary of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) being in power at the Centre. On June 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government will mark the second year of its third tenure and the 12th year of being in office since 2014. According to a senior functionary aware of the matter, the meeting will largely focus on the activities and programmes that the cadre will undertake. "Apart from reviewing the work that has been done across the states, Nabin will also talk about the new initiatives that the karyakartas (party workers) will focus on, such as monthly meetings at mandal level," the functionary said. He said a series of programmes have also been planned to mark the 12 years of being in power with Modi set to be the longest-serving PM. "...the government will publicise initiatives for infrastructure development, economic growth and for the accomplishment of Viksit Bharat (developed India)," said a second functionary. The week-long campaign, beginning June 8, will have Union and state ministers and senior party leaders address public meetings and lead campaigns to highlight 12 major policy decisions in these past 12 years. Nitin Nabin has already begun touring the poll-bound states, such as Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In 2027, elections will be held in Punjab, UP, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Gujarat....
