Panchkula, Aug. 13 -- A 23-year-old man was killed while his 19-year-old friend sustained critical injuries after their motorcycle went out of control and crashed into a road divider near the Chandimandir toll plaza in Panchkula on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Manu, a private firm employee and a resident of Tipra village in Kalka, allegedly fell to the other side of the divider after the crash, and was struck by a passing truck, killing him on the spot. His friend, Neeraj Kumar, a resident of the same village, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the civil hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, where he remains under treatment. Sub-inspector (SI) Yogdhyan of Chandimandir police station said, "We are in the process of registering an FIR against the driver of an unidentified vehicle. The vehicle will be traced soon."...
