The account @25.august.2026, built around a big reveal on "25 August 2026", has sparked a wave of discussion online after users were asked to pay Rs.500 to access a much-hyped video. Created by a masked individual, the account spent days posting countdowns and teasing a revelation on D-Day. It also attracted lakhs of followers, who speculated about what the page might unveil. On D-Day, that is August 25 the account shared a Telegram link on its Instagram Story, telling followers that the promised video has been released. The said Telegram post required 250 Stars, described in viral posts as costing nearly Rs.500 to unlock the video. Those who paid reportedly encountered a 14-minute countdown followed by a generic motivational message about wasting time on social media. A report has surfaced, claiming that 1.66 lakh people paid Rs.500 each, producing an estimated collection of Rs.8.5 crore. Reaction videos quickly labelled the stunt one of 2026's biggest online "scams" by content creators including Palak Dhawan Chaudhary and Deepak Wadhwa.
