Barnala man missing in Dubai for over a month, kin seek govt help
Barnala, March 28 -- The family of Birbal Singh, a construction worker from Kaire village who has been missing in Dubai for more than a month, has requested urgent intervention from the government. The family fear that their son's disappearance comes at a critical time of conflict across the Gulf region.
Birbal, who moved to Dubai over a year ago to secure a future for his 11-year-old daughter, contacted his family in February. According to village resident Sukhjinder Singh, Birbal confirmed his flight ticket on February 20 with plans to return to India. However, after February 25, all communication ceased, and his phone has remained unreachable. His mother, Nasib Kaur, said the family initially believed financial issues might have delayed his arrival. "We thought perhaps he didn't have enough money and would eventually come home. But now, with the war going on, we are terrified. We just want him back safely," she said. Villagers have approached the local administration and submitted a formal application. The family urged state and central governments to help ensure his safe return. htc...
