Sangrur, June 24 -- The unanimous election of office-bearers of the Sunam Municipal Council saw Manpreet Bansal getting elected president, Yadwinder Singh Nirman senior vice president and Meena Rani vice president on Tuesday. Similarly, Longowal's local body got Rachhpal Kaur as president, Kuldeep Singh Bunty as senior vice-president and Karamjit Kaur as vice-president, all elected unanimously. In Sunam, Punjab cabinet minister Aman Arora congratulated the newly elected office-bearers, saying they had an opportunity to serve the people. He urged them to speed up development works.Corruption would not be tolerated, Arora said. In Longowal, referring to the crores of rupees already spent on development works in the area, Arora said more development projects would be undertaken.
