Jalandhar, April 4 -- Armed robbers targeted a PRTC bus in broad daylight on the Jalandhar-Sultanpur Lodhi route on Friday afternoon, threatening the staff and creating panic among passengers. The incident took place near Mothanwala village where three to four car-borne men signalled the bus (PB-08-DG-5859) to stop. "Banging the bus doors, two of the accused entered the vehicle and snatched the conductor's bag having Rs.700 cash," police said. The bus driver, Pavitar Singh, told police that the accused brandished a sharp-edged weapon and threatened around 15 passengers of dire consequences if they tried to intervene. As the robbers fled, the bus staff drove to the Mothanwala police station and lodged a written complaint. "A case of robbery and snatching has been registered against the accused," said Sultanpur Lodhi police station SHO Harinder Singh. htc...
