India, July 24 -- Amritsar continued to be battered by heavy rain for the second consecutive day, recording83.5 mm rain in the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday after 184.6 mm the day before. Gurdaspur and Abohar were the second wettest in the state with33 mm rain. Light to moderate rain occurred in several other parts of the state, keeping temperatures cool.
