Chandigarh, June 10 -- Mercury continued its upward trend, going from 41degC on Monday to 42.1degC on Tuesday, 3.3 degrees above normal. This is the highest that the temperature has gone this month but it is still lower than June last year when the maximum temperature was the highest on June 11 at 43.9degC. In 2024, it was even higher at 45.8degC on June 1. India Meteorological Department (IMD) Chandigarh director Surender Paul said that the temperature will remain on the higher side on Wednesday as well, while a drop in temperature can be expected from Thursday thanks to a fresh Western Disturbance. On Friday, there is a possibility of the day temperatures going as low as 35degC by Friday.
