India, May 31 -- Former Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's eldest son, Maddox, has reportedly filed to legally drop "Pitt" from his surname. According to TMZ, the 24-year-old has requested a name change that would make his full name Maddox Chivan Jolie. The request is yet to be granted. The move comes after Maddox was credited as Maddox Jolie in the end credits of Jolie-starrer Couture (2025), on which he worked as an assistant director. It marked a shift from his earlier credit on Maria (2024), where he was listed as Maddox Jolie-Pitt. Maddox is the eldest of Jolie and Pitt's six children. The former couple, who split in 2016, also share Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne. He was adopted by Jolie in 2002. Maddox is not the first of the siblings to distance himself from the Pitt surname.
