Amish Tripathi denies reports of Ranveer Singh acquiring Shiva Trilogy rights

ultiple reports on Monday claimed that actor Ranveer Singh had acquired the rights to author Amish Tripathi's bestselling Shiva Trilogy under his production banner, Maa Kasam Films. The reports further suggested that the actor had partnered with Birla Studios to develop The Immortals of Meluha and its sequels as a grand-scale mythological trilogy, with the project expected to go on floors in 2028.
However, Tripathi has denied the claims. Reacting to the reports, the author tells us, "I'm in the UK and woke up to a flood of messages. The rights for the Shiva Trilogy are with me. And nothing has been signed with anyone as yet. Of course, I have huge respect for Ranveer, and am a big fan of his. But this news is not true."
This is not the first time the books have been linked to a big-screen adaptation. Back in 2012, reports suggested that filmmaker Karan Johar had secured the rights for a film version. However, the reported deal eventually lapsed, with Dharma Productions surrendering the rights after the contract expired. Dharma's shelved film Shuddhi was also rumoured to be inspired by the novel. Later, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was reportedly said to have explored the project, though that too did not materialise....
