Amaal Mallik launches scathing attack on Tanishk Bagchi over royalties row
India, July 25 -- M
usic composer Amaal Mallik has launched a public attack on fellow musician Tanishk Bagchi amid the ongoing row over music royalties and credits.
The outburst came days after Tanishk's now-deleted post about the royalties he received for composing Saiyaara (2025) sparked a dispute with Yash Raj Films. On Thursday, in a strongly worded post on X, Amaal referred to him as "Mr Remix & Destroyer of Originals" and accused him of using paid PR and pretending to be friendly in private: "10 years too late but I will show the world your aukaad. You don't deserve my mention also after all that has gone down, so please mera 2017-18 ka photos leke articles likhwana bandh kar Lala. Paid PR ka paisa tum label se kama chuke ho, but kharach galat jagah kar rahe ho."
Amaal also accused Tanishk of receiving undue credit for the Saiyaara title track and claimed that its actual creators had remained silent out of respect. He further alleged that Tanishk used personal heartbreak to gain sympathy and professional opportunities.
Amaal also accused Tanishk of plagiarism, writing, "You're a bloody thief, your originals are also not originals, they are complete copies of Pakistani songs, some other composer's stolen songs, folk melody lifts or just straight copies from even people's YouTube covers. You copied #Saiyaara from #HumnawaMere and out of respect Jubin Nautiyal had to keep quiet as he was part of the same film." He went on to name several other songs that he alleged had been plagiarised. We reached out to Tanishk's team and were told they would revert. But, no response was received till the time of going to press.HTC...
