New Delhi, Sept. 28 -- Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary MA Baby met Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi on Sunday to strengthen Opposition unity ahead of the INDIA bloc meeting on September 30. According to functionaries, the two leaders discussed the importance and necessity of sorting out mutual issues as the Opposition plans to put up a joint fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over key issues. There was, however, no discussion on the upcoming Punjab elections. "We discussed the overall political situation. We also discussed the scope of coordination and the importance and necessity of sorting out our mutual problems. We already have some degrees of coordination among all Opposition parties in Parliament. We need to come together on key issues such as the allegations against CEC Gyanesh Kumar," Baby said. The meeting with Kejriwal follows the telephonic conversation between Baby and former West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Friday. AAP and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) are not expected to join the Opposition's meeting.
