Admn halts construction near temple in Sangrur
Sangrur, Aug. 25 -- The district administration has halted the construction of a boundary wall on land adjacent to Shri Mangala Devi Temple after it was discovered that the plot was designated for commercial use.
The construction was initially approved through a directive issued by the DC office on August 21, which cited concerns over misuse of the open land and claimed it was affecting religious sentiments. The order permitted the construction of a boundary wall, stating that the land, owned by the Punjab government, should be used solely for temple purposes.
