6 Rewari health officials in soup
ROHTAK, July 10 -- The Haryana government has ordered disciplinary proceedings against six health officials, including three deputy civil surgeons and three medical officers posted in Rewari, over alleged irregularities in the installation of flex boards under the Ayushman Bharat - Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) Scheme 2022-23.
The action has been initiated under Rule 7 of the Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 2016, following findings related to inspection work carried out under the scheme, according to an order issued by the health department.
Those facing action are then deputy civil surgeons Dr Rajbir Singh, Dr Ashok Kumar, Dr Joginder Tanwar, then medical officers Dr Deepak Verma, Dr Rajneesh and Dr Abhishek Rao.
Additional chief secretary (health) Dr Sumita Misra confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been initiated.
According to the order, the government has decided to initiate major penalty proceedings after finding that flex boards meant for health and wellness centres were allegedly not installed by the executing firm.
Instead, the work was reportedly carried out at the office of the civil surgeon, Rewari.
The order directs the director general, health services, to prepare chargesheets against all six officials and submit them to the government within 15 days.
The health department has also taken action against a private agency, engaged to carry out the work, alleging that it failed to install the flex boards within the stipulated time despite receiving full payment in advance, violating the terms and conditions of the contract.
The firm's security deposit has been ordered to be forfeited, and it has been blacklisted from undertaking future government work....
