6 booked for attacking police team at Amritsar village
Amritsar, April 8 -- As many as six people, including two women, were booked for attacking a police party visiting Bhindi Saidan village on Tuesday.
As per information, the police team was in the village to question one Manjit Singh, who is accused of lobbing a grenade at the Bhindi Saidan police station on the intervening night between March 30 and March 31. No one was injured in the explosion.
According to the FIR, as the police personnel reached the village, Manjit, along with his family members and relatives, hurled stones at the team, injuring two constables.
Following this, police booked Manjit, his wife, Raj Kaur, Jugraj Singh, Resham Singh, Sunny Singh and Sukhchain Singh under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 132 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty), 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 191 (3) (rioting) and 190 (unlawful assembly) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita....
