54% turnout in Haryana civic body polls
Rohtak, May 11 -- The local body elections in Haryana, including in the municipal corporations of Ambala, Panchkula and Sonepat, recorded a voter turnout of 54.5% on Sunday, officials said.
Voting began at 8 am and continued till 6 pm amid tight security arrangements. The votes will be counted on May 13, they said. Despite small skirmish reported at few places, polling remained largely peaceful.
Out of the three municipal corporations (MCs) that went into polls, Sonepat recorded the lowest turnout of 48%. Ambala, Panchkula recorded a voter turnout of 54.4% and 53.4%. P4...
