45-yr-old man beaten to death over 'money dispute' in Rohtak village
Rohtak, Sept. 17 -- A 45-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death on Tuesday evening with sticks in Nidana village of Rohtak district following a financial dispute, police said on Wednesday.
The victim, Mandeep Singh, of the same village succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
According to police, the victim ran a mobile phone shop in the village and had an ongoing financial dispute with two local residents, Lakshya and Honey. The incident took place on Tuesday evening, when Mandeep had gone to the fields near the Samar Gopalpur canal. The accused allegedly attacked him there with lathis and sticks, leaving him critically injured before fleeing the scene.
His brother Kuldeep took him to a private hospital, where he died during treatment. Police was then informed, following which, a murder case under sections 103(1), 190 and 191(3) of the BNS was registered against the accused at sadar police station.
Police said that raids are being conducted at possible hideouts to arrest the accused and the body has been sent for autopsy....
