4 teens gang-rape, kill Delhi girl, dump body
New Delhi, Sept. 18 -- A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered by a group of four teenagers - three of them minors - who later dumped her body in a field in outer Delhi's Swaroop Nagar, police said on Thursday. Officials said that all accused are in custody - a 19-year-old man was arrested, while three minors were apprehended.
Investigators said one of the accused, a 17-year-old boy, appeared to be the victim's "friend" and that she had gone to meet him. The other three accused, police said, were friends of the 17-year-old.
At least two investigators familiar with the case, who asked not to be identified, told HT that the crime appears to have taken place on Friday.
The girl's body was found in a highly decomposed state on Sunday morning after locals spotted dogs and other animals attacking it.
Police said they received information on Sunday morning about a body lying in a field near Kushak Road in Swaroop Nagar. The body was mutilated, with the right hand missing and the face and abdomen disfigured by decomposition.
Police said the girl was a school dropout who had moved to Swaroop Nagar a few years ago. She was looking for a job to support her parents and was living separately from them....
