Mohali, June 9 -- The Sohana police arrested four unidentified men in a violent attack on Monday. The incident occurred when a man fleeing from an armed mob ran into a dairy farm in Jagatpura village seeking shelter, where two brothers were injured after they tried to protect him. The incident occurred on June 4 when Mohit Kumar, his brother Jatin Kumar and their father Surinder Singh were working at their cattle shed near Naggal Khera in Jagatpura. According to the FIR, a group of around 20 to 25 armed men chased a bleeding, unidentified man into the premises. When Jatin asked the group not to fight inside the cattle shed and to settle their dispute elsewhere, the attackers allegedly turned on him. Police said the main accused, identified as Lalla, allegedly struck Jatin near his left eye with a sharp-edged weapon, causing heavy bleeding. Other members of the group then allegedly joined the assault and continued beating him after he fell to the ground. The complainant alleged that when Mohit and his father attempted to rescue Jatin, the attackers assaulted them as well. Lalla allegedly hit Mohit on the head and later tried to stab Jatin in the abdomen, but Surinder Singh managed to block the blow. The accused allegedly continued attacking the family before fleeing after threatening to kill them if they reported the matter to the police. Mohit and Jatin were admitted to the Civil Hospital in Phase 6, Mohali, where doctors recorded injuries on both victims and referred them for further surgical opinion. According to doctors, both brothers are now in a stable condition. Based on Mohit's complaint, police registered an FIR under Sections 333, 115(2), 191(3), 190, and 351(3) related to house trespass, rioting with deadly weapons, causing hurt and criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
