CHANDIGARH, Aug. 12 -- As many as 365 persons with serious burn injuries have availed treatment worth Rs.1.39 crore under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana in Punjab, according to a government release. Quoting data from the state health agency (SHA), the release said that men aged 31 to 45 years accounted for the highest number of treatments, at 61, with expenditure of Rs.31.82 lakh. Boys up to 18 years accounted for 39 treatments, while girls in the same age group accounted for 27. Among women, the highest numbers were recorded in the 19-30 age group, at 26, followed by 21 among women aged 31-45. Health minister Dr Balbir Singh said, "The scheme ensures that patients don't suffer because of financial hardship." Bathinda reported the highest number of beneficiaries, with 57 people receiving 63 treatments, involving expenditure of Rs.33.51 lakh.
