IMPHAL, Sept. 1 -- Three people were killed and one other was injured in a fresh attack by unknown armed miscreants at Teikhang Kuki village in Kangpokpi district of Manipur on Monday, while three houses were reportedly set ablaze, police said. According to police, the incident took place at around 7.40 am and the deceased have been identified as Hoikhoneng, 20, Nemneichong Lhujem, 52, (both women) and Lamtinthang, 35 and, while Lamtinthang's father identified as Seilun sustained injuries. However the details of the injured are yet to be ascertained. Local residents alleged that the attack was carried out by armed Naga militants groups however, the allegation could not be verified independently. Police said an investigation has been launched to ascertain the identity of the miscreants.
