Mohali, March 10 -- In a freak mishap, a 25-year-old man was killed after being hit by his friend's tractor on Airport Road in Mohali on Sunday evening. The victim, Harsahib Singh, was a resident of Sector 78, Mohali. According to police, Harsahib had gone out with a group of friends, who were visiting from abroad. The group had reportedly gathered near Airport Road, where one of Harsahib's friends, who arrived on a tractor, hit him with the vehicle. Investigating officer Avtar Singh said the driver failed to apply the brakes in time, leading to the collision. People present at the spot rushed to help the victim and informed the police. Harsahib was taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead. Police responded to the scene after receiving information and began an investigation. A case under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered.
