22-yr-old youth shot dead in Hoshiarpur
Hoshiarpur, Dec. 17 -- A 22-year-old youth was shot dead by car-borne assailants near Hariana town on Tuesday evening.
The victim, Abdul Mohammad, lived in Kang Mai village, and ran a hair salon.
The assailants, who arrived in a white Maruti Suzuki Alto car, allegedly fired around 10 rounds, killing Abdul on the spot.
As per information, the victim was on his way to a nearby gymnasium on a two-wheeler on Tuesday evening. When he reached a bridge on Hariana road, the assailants intercepted him and opened indiscriminate firing.
His body was moved to the Hoshiarpur civil hospital for post-mortem examination. His family said they did not have any rivalry with anyone.
Hoshiarpur superintendent of police (Investigation) Parminder Singh Heer said police had some clues and leads, and the accused will be arrested soon. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. "Police have collected CCTV footage from nearby areas and are examining it," said senior superintendent of police Sandeep Kumar Malik....
