Bathinda, Sept. 12 -- Busting a cross-border drug trafficking network, the Faridkot police seized 12.2 kg heroin from two Tarn Taran residents on Thursday. The accused were identified as Sudagar Singh, alias Ghulla, 28, and Kanwaljeet Khan, alias Kammu, 27, both residents of Karmunwala village in Tarn Taran district. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Gurbans Singh Bains said a police party led by Hakam Singh, assistant in-charge of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), nabbed the duo at a checkpoint near Chandbaja village on the Amritsar-Bathinda National Highway. A motorcycle used in the crime was also impounded. He said initial investigations revealed the narcotic was brought from the border area, and intended for supply in Faridkot and adjoining districts.
