HALDWANI, Aug. 10 -- Police have arrested two people in connection with an alleged cow slaughter case in Ramnagar, Nainital district, and recovered around 120 kg of suspected bovine meat and equipment allegedly used for cutting meat, officers said on Sunday. Two other accused, including the alleged cattle owner who reportedly supplied the animal, are absconding, police said. According to Sushil Kumar, SHO, Ramnagar, police raided a suspected slaughterhouse near Badi Masjid on August 5 after receiving information about alleged illegal slaughter. "During a search of the premises, police recovered 120 kg of suspected banned meat along with equipment used for cutting meat. The seized material was sent to a laboratory for examination," Kumar said. After the lab confirmed that the seized material was bovine meat, police booked the unidentified people and launched a probe. htc...
