Chandigarh, Sept. 5 -- To fill vacancies and strengthening functioning of government schools, the Punjab government on Friday promoted 181 teachers and education officials, including four block primary education officers (BPEOs), as headmasters. Education minister Harjot Singh Bains said the promotions were intended to provide stronger on-ground leadership in government schools while offering career advancement opportunities to employees.
