15 injured after bus overturns in Jind
Karnal, March 15 -- Over 15 passengers were injured, including the driver and conductor, after a Haryana Roadways bus overturned upon hitting a divider near Jind's Uchana on Saturday morning, police said.
Police said there were around 50 passengers in the bus travelling from Tohana in Fatehabad to Jaipur in Rajasthan. The bus bearing HR-56GV-6198 was being operated under the kilometre scheme and was driven by Sandeep, while the conductor Surender was employed under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN).
The bus passengers alleged that the bus was at a high speed and the bus driver was using his mobile phone when the bus hit the divider before colliding with a tempo parked on the roadside, near Baroda village while heading towards Jind. Traffic SHO Shamsher Singh said that all the injured were rushed to hospitals in Uchana and Jind. "Due to the collision with the divider, the bus changed its lane and collided with a loaded vehicle. In the accident, five to six, including the driver, have suffered serious injuries," he said....
