1,258 fined for parking violations last month
Panchkula, July 4 -- As many as 1,258 people were challaned for parking violations last month, Panchkula police said on Friday. Officials said a special drive was carried out to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce congestion caused by vehicles parked illegally alongside roads.
Challans were issued through both online and manual methods. As many as 17 vehicles were impounded. DCP (crime and traffic) Amrinder Singh said the traffic police had earlier issued advisories, requesting citizens not to park their vehicles on roadsides. To spread awareness, no-parking signboards were also installed at important and sensitive locations across the city....
