India, Oct. 20 -- F
or Nimrat Kaur, the festive season is all about family, food and togetherness. The actor is currently shooting for her next project abroad, but says her priority is to make it back home in time for the celebrations.
"It's the best time of the year to enjoy what one values most in life - great food, big laughs and simply being at home together!" she shares.
The sentiment stems from childhood memories of celebrating Dussehra at an Army cantonment, where her father, late Indian Army Major Bhupender Singh, was posted. "We used to have a Ravana effigy burning ceremony which was fascinating to watch. This was followed by a big dinner," she recalls.
While her profession requires her to follow a strict diet, the festive season offers a welcome opportunity to indulge. "My Dussehra feast includes poori, sukhe kaale chane, khatta meetha kaddu, sooji halwa and kheer!"
When it comes todressing up for the festivities, Nimrat prefers going traditional. "I love bright colours and go all out with my festival picks!"
And if she could burn one modern-day habit alongwith Ravana's effigy this Dussehra, what wouldit be? "Doomscrolling!," she quips....
