India, Sept. 28 -- Filmmaker Rohit Shetty recently announced the release date of the fifth instalment of the Golmaal franchise. Actor Arshad Warsi, who has been a constant in each film, reflects on the movie series, ensemble comedies and why he loves the genre. With the comedy featuring several actors sharing the spotlight, Warsi recalls joking about how Golmaal had become a place where actors landed when their other films did not work, "During one of the Golmaal, we were all standing in a line and it just came out of my mouth that I want every actor's film to do well, because whoever's film doesn't do well, they come and join this line." But not every actor is comfortable being part of ensembles typical of comedies. "A secure actor is a secure actor, be it in a solo film or an ensemble. An insecure actor will always be insecure," the 58-year-old says, adding that OTT has made more actors comfortable being part of multi-starrers. "I am not a nepo kid, so it is tough for people like me to make it. If there was no OTT, I would probably have been jobless," he says. Family entertainers and comedies have made a comeback this year, and Warsi starred in two such films, Welcome To The Jungle and Dhamaal 4. Ask him about it, and he says, "I enjoy comedies. I like when comedies do well as it's very difficult to write comedies." Warsi, who was recently seen in Ghamasaan, has had a busy 2026 and closes it with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer King. Reflecting on the phase, he says, "I am enjoying it because the films are doing well. None of it is in my control, so I am just riding on the high wave."...
