Why BTS members RM, J-Hope are being slammed over Chris Brown, Usher concert
India, Aug. 15 -- The fiercely loyal ARMY of K-pop band BTS has been calling out members RM and J-Hope on social media after they attended the ongoing R&B Tour by Usher and Chris Brown in Toronto on August 12.
Brown has a history of domestic violence and sexual misconduct, including the high profile domestic violence case by Rihanna. He has also been the subject of a documentary, detailing several allegations of violence against women. Usher meanwhile has courted controversy by publicly supporting music producer Sean 'Diddy' Combs after the latter was accused of sex trafficking and convicted of transporting people across state lines for prostitution.
For fans, RM and J-Hope attending the concert felt inconsistent with the values that BTS associates with.
One wrote on X, "Chris Brown concert? A man who nearly beat a woman to death? And your own fandom is mostly women? That's a choice." Another wrote, "Saying 'They're there for the music' do NOT play that bulls**t. HTC...
