India, Aug. 23 -- A simple kitchen staple with a rosy hue is gaining popularity as a trendy morning ritual for weight loss: Himalayan pink salt. Dubbed the 'pink salt trick', the morning ritual involves adding a pinch of the mineral-rich salt to water, with claims that it can help improve digestion.
"This drink helps jumpstart digestion and boosts your metabolism for the day ahead. Rich in natural electrolytes, it also helps replenish electrolytes lost during sleep," says dietician Dr Archana Batra.
But what makes pink salt special compared to regular table salt? "Himalayan pink salt contains trace minerals like calcium and magnesium, giving it its colour and potential health benefits. It also has slightly less sodium than refined table salt," says the dietician.
It also contributes to balancing electrolytes and supporting overall wellness, which is crucial for maintaining hydration, muscle function, and nerve signals - all important factors in feeling energised and reducing common issues like bloating and fatigue. Proper hydration can also enhance workout performance, which indirectly aids weight management.
