Trishala Dutt reveals why Sanjay Dutt didn't stay with mum Richa Sharma in the US during her cancer treatment

rishala Dutt, 37, daughter of actor Sanjay Dutt and his late first wife Richa Sharma, has opened up about losing her mother to a brain tumour at the age of eight, while also reflecting on growing up under the spotlight as a star kid. The New York-based licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and psychotherapist spoke about grief, bullying and body-image struggles during a recent appearance on the podcast Inside Thoughts Out Loud.
Speaking about her mother's illness, Trishala said, "My mother passed away in 1996 when I was 8. By the time they found out, it was already grade 4," calling it "one of the deadliest and most aggressive human cancers".
She added, "Dad was splitting his time between India and the US because he was working, and it was hard to stay there full-time for her treatment while also being an actor back home." She further revealed that she turned to food for comfort during her mother's illness, leading to body-image struggles and constant comparisons over how a celebrity's daughter was "supposed" to look. Now a therapist herself, she added that her own struggles inspired her to help others feel less alone....
