India, Aug. 14 -- Director Ahn Pan-seok, who helmed the South Korean television series Something In The Rain, died on Wednesday at the age of 64. He was undergoing treatment after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Pan-seok's death comes as a shock because reports from two weeks back stated that he was recovering. His final work, upcoming drama Love Doctor, is scheduled to premiere in October. According to The Korea Times, the production team of Love Doctor confirmed his death in a statement, saying that they were "heartbroken to share the sad news." Pan-Seok's funeral proceedings will be held privately. News of Ahn's brain haemorrhage was first reported on July 31. At the time, Studio Genie told Xportsnews that the director was "currently recovering" and that filming for Love Doctor had already been completed. Ahn had reportedly been diagnosed with lung cancer last year and had been receiving treatment before suffering a brain hemorrhage and being hospitalised. Baek Ji-yeon, a former MBC announcer, posted the director's photo on social media, writing, "He was a wonderful director and a truly good friend." Actor Kim Hye-eun, who worked with Pan-seok on the 2014 drama Secret Love Affair, wrote on social media: "It breaks my heart that I couldn't work with him on his final project.
