India, Aug. 18 -- W hat if you could see crafts, jewels and objects once reserved for royal households, all under one roof? That's the idea behind The Heirloom Series, the 16th edition of Royal Fables, opening in Delhi on August 19. Bringing together over 80 heritage brands, artisans, collectors and members of erstwhile royal families, the showcase revisits traditions once nurtured in India's royal courts. Curated by Royal Fables Founder-Director Anshu Khanna and co-curated by Charu Singh, it treats the heirloom as a living tradition rather than a relic. The Palace Karkhana spotlights block prints by Rani Jaykirti Singh of Baria, shaded chiffons of Rani Dipti Singh of Kacchi Baroda, crafts from Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj, jewellery by Amrita Rana and Dhruv Singh, gold weaves from Sri Tana Bana, chikankari by Veena of Padrauna and beauty traditions by Alka Rani Singh. The showcase also features Basohli, Kangra and Kishangarh miniatures, wildlife and spiritual art, photography, Raja Ravi Varma-inspired works, silver installations, natural gemstones and new presentations by Raisal Art, Sona Chandi Studio and Aumra - The Mithai Atelier. It culminates in Sunehri Shaam, featuring Padma Shri Dr Soma Ghosh of the Banaras Gharana performing thumri, kajari, dadra and ghazal. HTC...
