India, Oct. 19 -- Years after finishing as the first runner-up of Indian Idol's debut season, singer Amit Sana is back on its new season, Legends Return. But his career graph, since the high, has been patchy. "I invested a lot of money into my second album (Yaadein, 2013). People loved it, but somehow, I lost a lot of money on it," Sana recalls. With inadequate royalties and publicity that never materialised, he found himself hesitant to release new music: "As an artiste, you get scared. How do you come out with a new song when you aren't financially well off?." He says the industry offered little support during this phase, as he points to the uncertain future reality show contestants face after their seasons end. "Offers don't instantly start pouring in. There have been a lot of seasons of Indian Idol, but very few people have actually managed to make it big in the industry," he says, adding, "As soon as the season ended, I was very depressed because I didn't know what I was going to do." As he returns to the spotlight, Sana reflects on how music has changed. "It is too daring; it overpowers your senses. Music which used to heal you, which used to make you connect back with yourself and feel like your emotions are being sung in the song, that is something I'm missing," he ends....
