NY sees special tributes as 9/11 marks 25 years

arking 25 years of the September 11 terror attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) in New York, tribute events are being organised across the city.
On Wednesday, 2,977 illuminated drones filled the sky over New York Harbor in a tribute to the lives lost in the attack.
A 21-foot, nearly 17,000-pound steel beam recovered from the WTC, will be part of a procession on Friday. It will retrace the steps of fallen firefighter Stephen Siller.
An annual public art installation, The Tribute in Light, will shine two beams of blue light into the sky from dusk to dawn on September 11-12.
At Bryant Park, an installation of 2,753 vacant chairs facing south towards the site of the former Twin Towers, will take shape on Friday. It will conclude with a free concert by the American Symphony Orchestra. HTC...
