India, May 6 -- Seventeen years after his death, Michael Jackson is back at the top of the global music conversation. The late pop icon has been ranked No. 1 on Kworb's Global Digital Artist Ranking for May 2026, beating current chart heavyweights including Justin Bieber, BTS, Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift. The development comes amid renewed attention around Michael, the biopic on the singer starring his nephew, Jaffaar Jackson. After the film, Michael's fan-favourite tracks such as Beat It, Billie Jean, Bad and Thriller, have returned to both the charts and playlists. The ranking list by Kworb aggregates artistes' digital performance across platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube, Shazam and Deezer, noting that while Jackson had 11,157 points, Bieber had 6,877 and BTS had 4,397. Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift trailed behind at 4,085 3,136, respectively. However, this ranking is separate from Spotify's all-time streaming list.
