India, May 28 -- N ineteen-year-old Nisarga Adhikary has found himself at the centre of a viral cybersecurity debate after claiming to have uncovered vulnerabilities in the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal. A private school student whose parents are government officials, Nisarga began coding in Class 7 and says he started exploring the portal after repeatedly seeing it in the news. "The problems only showed up once I started looking at the code behind it," says the teen, who is now fielding offers from AI startups. Describing himself as an "ethical hacker", Nisarga claims he reported the issues to CBSE and CERT-In, giving them three months to respond before going public. "It took me maybe an hour to find all the vulnerabilities," he claims, adding that the flaws "could have been solved in merely 2-3 hours". CBSE, however, clarified that the website referenced in the viral claims was only a testing portal and did not contain any live student data or actual marks. Nisarga has disputed the clarification and shared alleged screenshots and videos online in support of his claims. "This was done in good faith," he says, adding, "Yeah, this is just a hobby."...
