India, June 26 -- T he 2026 FIFA World Cup is currently underway, and for Indian football fans, watching it means late-night viewing to catch their favourite teams in action. With FIFA scheduling matches to align with audiences in the host countries Canada, Mexico and the United States, kick-off times in India fall between 12.30am and 6.30am IST. As a result, until the tournament concludes on July 19, sleep schedules are likely to be significantly disrupted. According to Dr Lokesh Gutta staying up for a few matches may seem harmless, but repeated sleep deprivation over several weeks can have serious health consequences. "Sleep is essential for both the body and the brain to function at their best. It is also the time when the body repairs itself and restores energy for the next day. Even a few days of inadequate sleep can leave a person feeling sluggish, tired, and unable to concentrate. It can also affect mood," he explains....
