Kala Hiran can't release for now, says court

he Delhi High Court on Thursday said Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy, a film stated to be based on Salman Khan's 1998 blackbuck poaching case, cannot release in theatres or on OTT for now as its CBFC certification is pending.
The court was hearing Khan's plea seeking to restrain the film's release. After recording a statement by producer Amit Jani and his legal team, it listed the matter for September 30.
Speaking to us, advocate Parag Khandhar, part of Khan's legal team, says, "The next date of hearing in this matter is 30 September 2026. So till next date said movie cannot be released in theatres or OTT. The defendants have also been asked to file a reply before the next hearing."
Khan had moved the court against the film as part of his personality rights suit, alleging that it draws from the poaching case, links him to underworld figures and uses elements associated with his identity. In July, the Delhi HC had directed the removal of several teaser links after he alleged violation of his personality rights....
