Johnny Depp's credit card details leaked; allegedly duped of Rs.7 crore
India, May 30 -- Actor Johnny Depp was allegedly robbed of more than $690,000 (approx Rs.7 crore) after his credit card details were leaked, according to several reports. The case gained global attention this week after videos of the suspect's arrest by armed police in Budapest surfaced online.
Hungarian authorities arrested a 27-year-old Jordanian man earlier this month in Budapest's Angyalfold district after investigators traced suspicious transactions linked to Depp's American Express card. According to The Sun, investigators are examining 308 transactions worth nearly Rs.7 crore carried out between January 2024 and December 2025.
The investigation reportedly began after an American bank alerted the Hungarian branch of the FBI about illegal withdrawals from the account of a high-profile US client, later identified as Depp. Police allegedly tracked the activity using IP addresses, email accounts and a Hungarian phone number linked to accommodation bookings and online purchases.
Blikk reported that the suspect allegedly escaped attention for months by making relatively small transactions over a long period. During a raid at an apartment in Budapest's 13th district, police seized electronic devices and suspected narcotic substances.
Authorities are still trying to determine how Depp's card details were obtained.htc...
