It was a joke: Archana, son back Samay
India, Sept. 5 -- Actor Archana Puran Singh and her elder son Aaryamann Sethi have defended comedian Samay Raina after his jokes about their family on the August 28 episode of India's Got Latent Season 2 drew criticism online.
During Archana's introduction on the show, Raina referred to her family vlogs and joked, "I have seen your vlogs; neither does your husband work, nor do your two 'nalle sons'." Her husband, actor-director Parmeet Sethi, is best known for films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), while their sons Aaryamann, an actor and content creator, and Ayushmaan, an actor, writer and filmmaker, were seated in the front row.
Addressing the backlash in a September 3 video on his YouTube channel, Aaryamann said, "People watching comedy have become too sensitive. It's a joke. He did not mean to hurt me or anyone in my family. Our relationship is fine and obviously, he is not trying to insult or hurt us." Archana had also laughed off the jibe during the episode, telling her sons, "I told you guys don't sit in the front row; this is not how you get fame, this is how you get insulted."
